Mantra plays a significant role in the practice of Kundalini Yoga. Mantra is a profound form of meditation that allows us to create specific frequencies in the body and in the space around us to shift into a preferred vibration. Mantra is spoken in Sanskrit which is said to be the original language of man. In Sanskrit, the words spoken are the pure vibrational essence of the word and so when we practice mantra, we are emitting that pure vibration into the universe for manifestation.

The Mangala Charn is a beautiful mantra in Kundalini Yoga that we use for protection. It is the opening of the heart chakra to trust creation to support you and keep you safe. In this meditation, we expand love from our hearts to all that is and in turn receive love back into our hearts. A healthy heart chakra is one that is open to both the giving and receiving of love.

The words for this mantra are:

  • AAD GURAY NAME – I BOW TO THE PRIMAL WISDOM
  • JUGAD GUREY NAMEH – I BOW TO THE WISDOM THROUGH THE AGES
  • SAT GURAY NAMEH – I BOW TO THE TRUE WISDOM
  • SIRI GURU DEVAY NAMEH – I BOW TO THE GREAT UNSEEN WISDOM

This mantra can be used whenever you are feeling a sense of fear or doubt as this is simply a disconnection to our true selves as eternal infinite beings. It brings us back to our truth as being one with all that is and realigns us to eternal love, peace and protection. When we remember that we are one with God we remember that there is nothing to fear because we are pure love and we exist within pure love always and forever.
