This is probably the most asked question!
and trust me when I say…
I’ve tried it all!
and I always come back to the same conclusion
YOU JUST STAY PUT IN THE FIRE
I know it’s easier said than done
I know it is human nature to try to avoid doing exactly that
I know it’s sometimes unbearable
I know sometimes another part of you takes over and you substitute, medicate, bypass or distract yourself with anything that can take you away from just feeling it all
I’ve done it…
for many many years
AND YET
what has repeatedly given me breakthroughs and helped me more than
anything…
is to just sit with all the arisings
to learn to sit with elegance and ease
How do you do it?
YOU JUST DO
there really is no other way
what gives you the strength? what gives you the capacity?
that comes from spending years trying everything else and seeing how it does not lead to resolution
and getting to a point of being truly tired of ones own bullshit
TRY IT
next time uncomfortable feelings come up, next time you crave food or a juice or think to break your dry fast….just sit… for an hour, or two…
it may seem like a waste of time
but it’s actually the greatest investment you can make
sit and feel it all
observe your mind
observe where it takes you
how it comes with the darkest, weirdest shit you could possibly imagine
just observe, be with it
feel your body
where is it holding on
where is it sore
where is it not breathing
relax
breath
surrender
love
soften
embrace
find your centre
it’s a powerful practice
THE BEST WAY TO REALLY KNOW YOURSELF
and then?
then you chose who you want to be…
and what if I come to the conclusion that I cannot change?
that I am trapped in my way of being?
then you sit with that
feel that
don’t think about it
FEEL IT
feel it till the end
“The only way to be free of our conditioned patterns is through a full, conscious experience of them”.
This might be called “ripening our karma,” what the Indian teacher Swami Prajnanpad described as bhoga meaning ‘deliberate, conscious experience.’
“You can only dissolve karma through the bhoga of this karma. We become free of what we’re stuck in only through meeting and experiencing it directly. Having the bhoga of your karma allows you to digest unresolved, undigested elements of your emotional experience from the past that are still affecting you: how you were hurt or overwhelmed, how you defended yourself against that by shutting down, how you constructed walls to keep people out.”
Use each reset to collapse polarities, to finish stories, to free yourself
stop thinking there is another way.
it’s not so hard when you give up your preference and when you trust that you were made for this
you are much stronger than you think you are!
